I dont think chess titles should specify gender

That's all I just don't see the need to have a WIM title vs an IM.
Yeah, but women seem to be really weaker than men in chess. In other sports like football (Americanos read: Soccer) etc. that's a reason to separate the genders. So far the "official" argument.

MY personal opinion: Since women claim that thy are as smart as men I would also agree they should take the consequences and not separate themselves from the men.

How ridiculous would it be if we started to give doctors those titles? woman Dr., male Dr., trans Dr., and so on. Jeez, either you're a doctor or not. Same with chess.
Women only titles have different requirements. IM, GM and so on are gender neutral, it's not like women are barred from gaining them or participating in the same tournaments as men. Unlike most sports.
The reason that women's titles are given out is to show that someone who has that title earned it through women's tournaments, and not open tournaments. Women can, and have, earned "men's" titles.
@gfitz01 it has nothing to do if rating was earned on Women only tournament or not. Just the rating limits are lower. Getting rating up WIM level attending mostly women only tournaments woudl rather difficult. Most tournaments are open
The fact that someone gets a title, with or without a gender, has no affect on you at all.
