notification bar spam

when someone i know competes in a tournament (like the recent 24 hour one) and withdraws/joins multiple times, i get notified they are in the tournament for each join; this leads to 10+ notifications per person sometimes.

can a check be added so it only notifies me once?

Agreed, this system is annoying as hell and is messing up my notification bar too. That's why I decided to not follow anyone. Is there a way -maybe already in the tube- to turn it off completely in the future?
