thematic blitz games/tournaments

It would be great to play these kind of tourneys: all the games with the same opening line.

Very good to practice openings.
Cannot believe anyone else is not supporting this feature! It would be crushing...
The 'from position' functionality already present could be leveraged for this feature. Fantastic idea, OP, +1.
Interesting idea, but where to cut off what one considers to be opening theory? Or do you suggest to start the games from just the first few moves? Such as a 'Sicilian Tournament' in which e4 and c5 are played, but the rest of the game is up to the players themselves? Or do you suggest an even more specific theme, such as the Sicilian Dragon, or the Najdorf? Some openings go 20+ moves deep.

Also, does the player have to make the first moves himself, or does the game start from a position? Again, very interesting idea, OP.
This feature is available in other sites, but always for "postal" games or tournaments. I haven't find it for blitz games.

Usually the game's (or tourney's) admin sets up the initial position, and people who enter the game (tourney) accepts that position. I think that a club player would set up just position with just 3 or 4 moves, while an advanced player would need 10-15 for their training.

Perhaps this issue could be more difficult to deal with: are the games rated or not?

One way to test the real appeal of this feature could be to offer, i.e., the "caro-kann" as an extra option along with antichess, chess960. If after a week nobody choose that option, then I am wrong.
I had the same idea. I saw that users can setup tournaments here themselves, even private tournaments. To set up a thematic tournament it should be enough to send the first moves (pgn). Of course the players should be able to see the initial position before entering the tournament.
months passed....but nothing new here? the feature really would be great training purposes!
