Is running out of time always a loss?

If checkmate can be constructed via any kind of possible play from the position where one of the sides ran out of time then this side loses the game.
@Sarg0n Once again this gets very much back to the original point. Supporting this rule solely because it is a FIDE guidelines is just illogical unless you support all FIDE guidelines. This would mean for instance that clicking on a piece would mean you must move that piece, making an illegal move would mean you instantly lose the game, and so on. And of course we also do things that go against absolutely every FIDE standard such as arena tournaments where you can berserk to get extra points in a single game. FIDE guidelines just don't really work so well for online play and most every major site, ever, has realized this.

A route that @Toadofsky suggested was that the rule is at least logically consistent because though a win in these positions (for the inferior side) basically never happens, it could theoretically happen and thus the inferior side gets the benefit of the doubt. But there's also a logical problem with this. There are forced mates, with no capture or pawn move, that exceed 500 moves long. This means you'd need to get rid of the 50 move rule, or change it perhaps to the 600 or so move rule to remain logically consistent in this case.

So you end up in these situations where you either have to support this rule in and of itself, which I think few people would actually be happy to do -- or you end up in logical traps where you'd be obligated for making Lichess's server rules even sillier which may enable one to save face, but is certainly not a great idea.
Yet again you are spewing the same shit without listening to anyone, or backing up any of your statements based on made up statistics. This is not how adult discussions work. It's an insult to everyone that is trying to contribute.

If you are gonna argue a point you at the very least owe it to others to listen. Read what they are saying. Reflect on what they are saying. Then you respond to what they have been saying.
