Which sounds cooler ?

"white wins" or "white is victorious".

I think the latter sounds kinda silly and snobbish.

"white is victorious" is amazing

"Victorious" by a long shot.

It adds a certain epic quality and sounds as if the battle was hard-won.

I suggest : white (or black ) kicked black's (or white's ) ass
sounds childish but kinda cool :)

Here's a thought: they should have different way of saying it depending on how hard fought the game was.

A long hard fought, even game but with checkmate: "white is victorious"
A long hard fought game but time-win: "white wins".
A fast checkmate: "white kicks blacks ass" :D

"White utterly demolished black" if black had 3 or more blunders and white had 0.
