Chess theory...where to find

I lost all my books due to a water accident. Is there a page out there where i can have a look or need i to buy all again? Or a, perhaps cheep side on the web, where i can learn?

Forgot too much about the last Years and i hate it. 20 years no chess and it is another world.
Sorry to hear you lost your books. Every chess theory topic is on the net. Older books can often be found in PDF format. Anything in particular you are looking for?
Oof, really sorry about your books, how about you dry them, or are they fully wet and irraplacable
I'm really sorry about your books but be honest with yourself; does theory make one player way better than he is? There was a quote from Fischer that said that "theory should only allowed for 2400+". I kinda agree with that as even at 2200 level, players still commit quite a lot of blunders.
Excuse me; i will answer to all at once.

It was "dish water"; i do not know the exact term, you know, from the toilet; i want to refresh my advanced dragon, nimzo-indian, scandinavian, spanish, italion, and most common answers to e4 as example.
I am no great player but i loose games because of a bad knowledge of openings. I use to play "sharp" openings and if i can not remember exactly i must outplay my oponenet at middle or endgame. I forgot to much and it feels bad to loose if you know: there is a correct answer but u can not remember.

I am back to chess, have fun and i like it. But i do not want to loose because bad knowledge. Sorry for the bad use of language but, as by playing chess, i never used englisch for more than 20 years.
Sounds like you're better off without those. Sharp openings featuring lots of semi-forced lines and requiring a memory bank are for GMs, not the likes of us. :)
What is most important is understanding the why behind the opening theory, not the exact moves. Then you can play most openings well, bc you will know the principles. Also, try and gather a few openings for each color and play them exclusively. that way you master them.
Ok I will kind off contradict my previous post. The one who says that learning opening lines and theory before reaching 2200 is a liar or a computer. I managed the level i have now thx to learning opening lines and plans. So if you want to refresh your opening lines, ask players who use them. Ask them for help and learn from their games (they don't need to be GMs or IMs, just a player who is like 200-400 pnts above you). As for individual learning, maybe you can buy some new books or find the content online. Hope it helped.
