Improve 300 points in less than a month!

TDLR: I stopped playing blitz and started playing rapid. I played rapid like once or twice a week but now I play 90% of my time in rapid.
New found confidence as I soar 300 points.

I'm just now finding the players challenging this past 40 points. Looks like my plateau is getting closer.
Once I reach that, I'll play classical. Then push.

My problem was I was doing a lot of study but I didn't had enough time to use my studies. Blitz is fun but it's not a good learning environment. Now that I'm playing rapid, I am calculating much better as well as learning on every game.

I'll see then where I end up and I'll post again.
Hope ya'll are having a nice day!

What are you success stories?
for me personally i jumped by 500+ points in bullet during 2020 within a span of a month or more and then jumped again by 200+ points in bullet during 2021 for a span of at least 2 months ! :)

Congrats Rembrandt. Nice job. Any GM will tell you that for non titled players, long games are certainly the way to go for improvement. IMs and GMs are good enough that they can play a half decent game in bullet, but for the rest of us it tends to just be chaos. Stick with the long games, study endgames and work on tactics and we will see you at 2000 before you know it. Best of luck and congrats again on the success you're having.
Hmm rapid is the way to improvement as here you will get more chance to play theoritical lines and enhance understanding of all spheres the opening , middlegame and endgame too.
Several ways to approach long games:
- for the pleasure of the beautiful game
- in tournaments
- to train

But even Rapid games seem to be too rapid for training. Try 30+5 or 60+10 (against a bot if you do not find an opponent) against players rating 100-150 above you. In classical games you'll have opportunities to work strategy, and to gain automatisms by taking the time to apply a good thought process.
It is time consuming because you'll have to analyse these games.
May be rated rapid games to evaluate your improvment.
