Why isn't 2.Bb5 a popular response to 1.e4 Nc6? What makes it inferior?
I don't think there is anything wrong with it but are you hoping to transpose to a Ruy Lopez?
If so 2.Nf3 is good for white as the only other playable alternative for black is d5 and that will transpose to a bad Scandinavian with blacks knight on c6.
good explanation AMADAN, but they could play d6 and try to transpose into a sort of pirc
