Wouldn't allow me to resign my game; received warning for 'timing out'.

I was losing my game; decided to resign and start another game. Clicked resign Flag; flag turned red and clock continued. Sent message to my opponent I was resigning but the resign button not responding. Any advice??

After it turns red, click it the red flag to resign

Under "Confirm resignation and draw offers"
"No/Yes"
(Meaning single click, or using double click for confirmation)
