I take a big dose of "Mio" before Playing... :]
Usually smoke a good J to calm my nerves before the match and a white russian or two during the match.
You should stick to water. Drinking Coca-Cola is not good for chess due to the caffeine. The caffeine is a stimulant which is good for short bursts of energy but once that wears off, you might find yourself more tired then when you started drinking the soda.
It might be good if you find yourself in a long match where you are starting to feel tired and are having trouble focusing but even then, it may not be such a good idea to drink something like that.
It might be just better to get more and more around to keep yourself from dozing off. You might wish to do a series of stretches where you tighten your muscles, then relax them, then tighten them. Walking around is also good. You want to try to keep yourself active.
