Which is more logical 1.d4 or 1.e4?

Italian is horrible. Very much a beginner opening. The better e4 e5 lines are in the Ruy.
I suppose the Russian system/Petrov is also pretty good with e4 e5. I never learned it much though only from the white side.

1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nf6?? 3.Nxe5 d6 4.Nf3 Nxe4 5.Nc3 1-0

I have bad memories with the Petrov, last game I had against it was with a 2100 that only knew how to exchange pieces, I played poorly there I think, I didnt know you also had to watch out for draws lol.

Don't believe everything you hear. The Spanish is considered to have more critical lines, true, but a) that's completely irrelevant on amateur level and b) the Italian is far from being a bad opening. In fact it is having a resurgence even at the very top level right now, having been used by players such as Giri, Anand and Kramnik only recently.

I said I didnt want to start WW III lol.

The Italian is not a beginner's opening, in fact I dont remember incorrectly Shirov, or other top GM play it here and then, the problem with it is that it is drawish.

Here is a great video I once watched about Ruy vs Italian:

That Looks quite like the game Anand lost in 6 moves :D

...isnt all this 1. e4 -stuff about hunting the +=, trying to take Whites slight opening Advantage into a middlegame?

I think my tactics are strong enough or not weak enough to fall for Cochrane tips. A knight is a knight, yet in defense of the gambit, its surprising how the computer only gives an slight edge for the knight instead of full 3 points.
Its not the worst opening ever but it is overrated by beginners. I play it occasionally just to mix things up. Actually I play it 30+ percent of the time I play e4 e5.
