What is the point of playing bullet games?!

The World Champion and many other top players have spent many many hours playing bullet on this site . I seriously doubt Magnus Carlsen would waste time playing something that is:

-nonsense
-real waste of time
-flinging pieces around hoping they stick
-poker
-mouse race
etc etc

I don't think these players are interested in any of the above. They're serious competitive chess players who want to play chess not bullshit.
They aren't ONLY serious chess players, they are also streamers and after a quick buck, sorry to break it to you. If they only cared about chess they wouldn't stream, it's a disadvantage and attention tax.
@YouGetNoRest

Unfortunately Magnus Carlsen doesn't stream when he's playing bullet here. And whatever he won in titled arenas he donated back as far as I know.

Most top players don't earn a single dime from playing bullet here.
Not true, it's something they do for clout! And maybe fun depending on the player in question! Still, it's a just for fun mode and there's a reason it's controversial that it's even used as tie breaks. It will never have the merit, value or prestige of real chess.

It's a cool variant tho!
Magnus Carlsen wouldn't waste time playing something that is not chess. He wouldn't waste countless hours on something that looks like chess but is actually all about 'mouse speed' or flinging pieces around. He dominates most players in bullet because bullet is chess and Magnus Carlsen is good at chess.

And you haven't been following chess trends I'm afraid. Bullet has been a part of many high level online tournaments with prizes , participated by Magnus Carlsen and many other top super GMs.
i have to disagree ---------- bullet is *no variant*. bullet is simply too fast for me. i feel it's very much a different kind of game, but it's still chess........sort of... variants.........no. i mean, with bullet, i guess there's a chance it'll be like the three point shot in basketball, which is now what everyone wants. there are hardly any centers anymore. who knows where bullet will end up in the future??? although, personally i'm not very into it. just too fast. but will bullet or blitz become the three point shot????? just wondering.
@JasonNewst Incorrect, it's a clout thing.

Sorry to break it to you but Bullet has a large audience and it helps to promote his other content.

Not to mention, some players, Carlsen possibly included, simply enjoy it as a break from real chess!

If all he ever cared about was grinding chess optimally for as much time as possible, Carlsen wouldn't stream at all, nor would he do any of his other business ventures.
@pawnmulch It's a very different game, with a totally different skill set. Calling it a variant is less of a misnomer than just calling it a time control.
@YouGetNoRest maybe.......... but in bullet there's no pawn hordes, the pieces are where they belong..., no blowing up pieces with sound effects.............. omg.
